What are these unsaved Filters/Views?

When Centercode executes either the default or custom Filter/View combinations in User Management or Feedback Management, it stores the resulting data in a temporary state called a "Cache", that is retained on the server.

This article applies to Pro, Team, and Legacy editions.

When Centercode executes either the default or custom Filter/View combinations in User Management or Feedback Management, it stores the resulting data in a temporary state called a "Cache", that is retained on the server. This data will remain for typically an hour (depending on server settings), after which time the Cache of data is removed and a new Cache would need to be generated for the same data.

User Management (Community or Project)

From User Management:

  1. Select the Default or a Custom Filter.
  2. Select the Default or a Custom View.
  3. Select the Action Show user list.
  4. Click the Perform Action button at the bottom of the main body area.

You will be taken to a Preparing User Data page, while the Cache is being generated. After the Cache finishes generating, you will be taken to the resulting List page containing your Cached data.

Feedback Management (Project only)

From Track Feedback:

  1. Select the Default or a Custom Filter.
  2. Select the Default or a Custom View.
  3. Select the Action Show feedback list.
  4. Click the Perform action button at the bottom of the main body area.

You will be taken to a Preparing Feedback Data page, while the Cache is being generated. After the Cache finishes generating, you will be taken to the resulting List page containing your Cached data.

Requirements

  • Manage Users role (for User Cache data)
  • Specific View feedback role (for Feedback Cache data) for the corresponding Feedback Type

Notes

  • Remember that Cached User Data will persist as generated for an hour (with typical server configuration). This means that if the data displayed in your User results is changed, that your Cache will still display the data without the corresponding change(s).
  • Feedback Caches work somewhat differently than User Caches, in that changes made to Feedback Forms or data will update any existing Caches containing that data in near-real time. This forced Cache updating with Feedback was implemented in order to make working with Feedback more manageable (due to the real-time and immediate nature of working with Feedback or Bugs).
  • On the resulting List page for any User or Feedback data, the Cache can be made to refresh (i.e. check the server and update with the latest changes made to the data) manually. To do so, click either the Refresh Now link in the heading of the results page or click the Refresh Data Now button on the right-hand side of the Filter and View bar. Use this if you suspect your Cached data to be out-of-date and missing some recent changes.
