User Resources Overview
Create and manage the macros, views, and filters that power your community and project user management workflows
The User Resources page is the library where you build and organize the tools that make community user management efficient and scalable. Rather than performing one-off actions, User Resources lets you create reusable assets — macros that automate user actions, views that define which data columns appear in your user lists, and filters that determine which users appear in those lists.
These resources work together across your community. Macros can reference filters to target the right users automatically, and views surface exactly the data you need when reviewing results. Building a strong library of resources here is the foundation of effective, repeatable user management.
User Resources exists identically at both the community and project levels of Centercode.
To access community user resourcees navigate to Community management > Users > User resources.
To access project level user resources navigate to Management > Users > Project users > User resources at the project level.

User Macros
The User Macros section lists all macros available at the community level, along with the admin who last modified each one and when. Use the Create a macro button to build a new macro.
Each macro row displays the following columns:
Name: The macro's label as it will appear in action dropdowns and the macros list. Clicking a macro's row opens it for editing.
Last modified by: The admin who most recently saved changes to the macro.
Last modified: A relative timestamp indicating how recently the macro was updated.
Hovering over a macro will show the following options:
View log: This allows you to see a log of (by default) the last 50 times the macro was run, on whom, and when.
Toggle on/off: This allows you to toggle a macro "on" or "off". Macros toggled on will be available for use, while macros toggled off are considered inactive/unavailable. Use this option if you want to disable use of a macro without removing it entirely.
Remove: Removes the macro. This action cannot be reversed.
💡 Ted Tip: I recommend keeping your macro library tidy by archiving or removing macros that are no longer in use. Because macros can appear in action dropdowns community-wide, a cluttered list makes it harder for other admins to find and use the right one quickly.
User Views
The User Views section lists all saved views available for use in community user management, split into two groups:
Private views: Views that are only visible to the admin who created them. Private views are useful for personal workflows or experimental column configurations you're not ready to share.
Shared views: Views that are accessible to all admins with appropriate permissions. Shared views should represent standardized configurations useful across your team — such as a contact information view or a participation summary.
Each view row displays the view's name, the admin who created it, and when it was last modified. Use the Create a view button to build a new view.
User Filters
The User Filters section lists all saved filters available for use in community user management, also split into two groups:
Private filters: Filters that are only visible to the admin who created them.
Shared filters: Filters accessible to all admins. These represent commonly needed query criteria — such as filtering by last login date, team assignment, project membership, or user country — that any admin may need to apply when working with user data.
Each filter row displays the filter's name, the admin who created it, and when it was last modified. Use the Create a filter button to build a new filter.
💡 Ted Tip: I recommend building your filters and views in pairs. If you create a filter that targets users on a specific team, also create a view that shows the data you'd want to see for those users — like email address, last login, or survey responses. That pairing makes your community user management queries instantly actionable.
Notes
- The Moderate User Macros role is required to create or edit macros. The Create Views and Moderate Views roles govern view creation and editing respectively.
- Macros created here do not run on their own — they must be triggered manually from the Community Users page, attached to a notice, scheduled via User Automation, or connected to a survey or profile submission.
- Views and filters created in User Resources are available across community user management, including as options in the View (columns) and Filter (rows) dropdowns on the Community Users page.
